KASPAR ASTRUP SCHRÖDER
Kaspar is a self-taught film director and multidisciplinary artist. Besides filmmaking, Kaspar works as a graphic designer, painter, musician, designs furniture, and has been a video editor on a range of different projects, such as short movies, fiction, and documentaries. In 2009 Kaspar debuted as a director with his first long documentary film, 'The invention of Dr. NakaMats'.
Since then, he has written and directed numerous documentary films and tv series, that range from the fates of children to social realist stories in places rarely portrayed in documentaries. Kaspar's films have been selected at more than 50 international film festivals and have won several awards and nominations at both Danish and international festivals. He has directed feature length documentaries that have been distributed internationally and premiered at some of the world's biggest film festivals, such as IDFA, Planete Doc, It's All True, Hot Docs, SFIFF, and CPH:DOX.
Alongside Good Company Pictures, he has directed ‘Big Time’ (IDFA, Chicago International Film Festival), ‘Waiting For the Sun’ (winner at Hot Springs International Documentary Film Festival, CPH:DOX), ‘Don’t Give a Fox (CPH:DOX), 'Making a Mountain’. In cooperation with Discovery+, Kaspar recently released a tv series and movie called 'Medina',
