Salimah was born in Malaysia where she spent the first 10 years of her life as an illegal refugee. Her mother is not able to take care of her which means she has to move to Denmark to reunite with her father and older sister. She has not seen them since she was a one year old and therefore has no memory of them.

We follow her on her way from Malaysia to her new life in Denmark where she has to settle in to a new culture far from her own.
